Challenge Winner and New Challenge!!!!

Well, Random.org surprised us this week by choosing #4, Tracy NZ! YAY! So, please shoot us an email and tell us which 2 images you would like! We will email them to you as well as a short "Get To Know Ya" questionnaire because you are also the Guest Designer for next week's Challenge! You choose the color combo, sketch, focal point, etc! Thanks for playing this week Tracy!!

Thanks to everyone who submitted a creation this week for Maria's Primary Colors Challenge! Thanks Maria for such a great Challenge!

Now for this week's Challenge! Daisychain is our Guest Designer this week and she has chosen a Pastel Color Pallette and Daisies! Nice soft subtle colors! Beautiful Daisies! This should be FUN!! Now, everyone read all about Christine and then hurry to your scrap room to create a card/project for this week!

What is your favorite craft medium? Watercolour pencils. I find I can control them better than inks or paints, and I don't make such a mess.

What is your favorite scrap item/tool? Without a doubt my Cuttlebug and Wizard Nestabilities. I don't know how I managed before I got them.

What is your favorite paper line/company? I don't have a favourite as such, it depends what catches my eye. I do, however, use quite a few freebie downloads as I'm on a very tight budget. I like Montis Pixel Playground, Joni Gray and Summertime Designs. (I have used Montis Pixel Playground papers on my sample card).

What is your favorite color(s)? I love the soft look of pastels and use them a lot but I also like to use black & white, sometimes with a shock of bright colour thrown in. I'm a typical Gemini so I tend to like opposite looks depending on my mood.

How do you have your scrapboom decorated? Colors, themes, homey, contempo, etc. My craft room is the second largest bedroom in the house and is decorated in 'tropical' colours. The walls are lime green and curtains are lime, orange & yellow. The furniture is a mix of pine & beech. Sometimes, when the weather is good, it even feels tropical.

Are you an animal person? Do they have a place in your scraproom? I'm definately an animal person who has had animals all my life. Until recently I had 2 cats and a dog. Unfortunately this year I lost both of my gorgeous cats, they were 20yrs and 19yrs old. I am just getting used to them not being here. The dog is always in the craft room or at the top of the stairs when I am crafting.

What is your favorite Disney movie? Do you watch TV/Movies while working? Do you get your inspiration from them? I always liked the Disney films that had a young Hayley Mills in, good family films. The only time I watch TV while working is when I am colouring in images downstairs. I tend to listen to the radio in my craft room. I don't think I get inspiration from them for my cards.

Sweet or Savory snacks? Chocolate and more chocolate!

Scary or Romantic movies? Romantic. My favourite is 'Truly, Madly, Deeply' and anything else with Alan Rickman in. I also like to watch family type films like 'Nanny McPhee' and the old 'Ealing Comedys'.

Beach or Snow vacations? I live 10 minutes walk from the beach but tend to go there mainly in the winter. I prefer to spend summer in the countryside. I can't stand the cold snow, I prefer to be warm.

Favorite type of music? Rock music (big 'Queen' fan), Classical and Country

Nice to meet you Christine! Thanks so much for creating this Challenge!!

Challenge Winner and New Challenge

Happy Tuesday everyone! We hope everyone is well and having a great time being creative! We would like to announce the winner of Viv's Green, Blue and Bling Challenge....#1 or Daisychain! YAY! I have the Random.org pic but the blog won't take it today. Just my luck...got booted from the server early today and missed lots of time/opportunities to post this now I can't get the pic to work. Oh well...I will keep trying, I swear! =) It is just a little freaky -- Random.org has generated a #1 for the third week in a row! WOW! Anyway...Daisychain, shoot us an email to claim your 2 free images and talk about your Guest Designer spot on the blog!

This week we have Maria Matter as our Guest Designer! She has chosen a Primary Colors (red, yellow, blue) themed challenge since school will be starting soon!

Aren't her example projects TOO CUTE? She has created a card, a pencil holder and then tossed in matching pencils and stickers so the set can be further decorated by the recipient! Great idea!

Let's get to know Maria a little better, shall we... =)

My favorite:
craft medium~ colored pencils, I feel they give me the best control for shading.
scrap/craft tool~I can not be too far from my straight cutter, I have little marking all over it. It's part of me and goes where I go!!
paperline~K&co, hands down!
colors~I like earthtones and muted/vintage colors.
my scrap/crafting area is smack-dab in the middle of my home. We have a huge 'great-room', so I can see my kitchen, dining area, living room and library from my crafting table. That allows me to craft while supervising the cooking and the kids, which we homeschool. My supplies are condensed in a jelly cupboard my husband made me, a file cabinet and various baskets! We built our home to resemble a barn, loft and all. Our decor is primitive country, we even have a real tree in our living room styled for our spiral staircase!
movies~I like action/mystery movies, some of my favorites are The Italian Job, Ocean's 11, Tom Cruise movies!
snacks~oh, I definitely have a sweet tooth and love my milk chocolate!
vacation place~one or two days at the beach is fine, but I'd much rather be a snowbunny!
music~love it all, as long as it has a beat and I can dance to it!

Wow Maria, sounds like you are one busy lady, and lots of fun! Now, let's put our creative caps on and create using Primary Colors in honor of school starting! Yay! Remember, the winner of this week's challenge will recieve 2 free images! Have FUN!! =)

Winner of Lisa's Cute & Unusual: Thinking Outside the Box Challenge

is #1, Maria Matter! YAY! Thanks SO much to everyone who played along this week! This was a really FUN challenge and there were SO many possibilities! Thanks for Thinking 'Outside the Box'! Thanks Lisa for being our Guest Designer this week! =)

Viv of Doggone Crazy is this week's Guest Designer! She has created a super cute card as an example. Viv's Challenge is "cards in BLUE & GREEN, and a bit of BLING thrown in please!" Sounds GREAT! In Viv's example card she used Doodle Palace's Raggedy Bear but you may use any image you choose!

Now, before you start on your cards for the challege, let's get to know Viv!

Here favorite color(s) are Green, Browns and Blues, her favorite craft medium is: "Definitely paper, and inks, and flowers, well, just about everything I guess!" Her favorite scrap item/tool is Copic Markers!!!! And Distress Inks. Viv LOVES Basic Grey and K & Co papers as well as Cosmo Cricket, which she used in her challenge example.

Viv hasn't really decorated her scraproom yet, leaving it the bright lime green her stepdaughter chose but her hubby built a very cool wooden shelving unit for the wall for lots of storage and she has some DOGGIE canvases on the walls. =)

We asked Viv if she was an animal person and if yes did the animals have a place in her scraproom: "DEFINITELY!! Most of my scrapping is of my dogs! My animals are my babies and they are always with me. The little bed is next to the main desk and my boys (poodles Vinnie and Riley)lie on it to keep me company, tho Vinnie would prefer to be in my lap, and Abbie (Golden Retriever) lies beside me on the floor and then Patrick the cat...well he is banned as he likes to sit on whatever you're looking at and likes to get his teeth and claws into paper, tissue paper, flowers, etc. and he chews and shreds!!! EEEKK!!

Viv's favorite Disney movie is Pirates of the Carribean...mmmm....Johnny Depp!! MAN Viv, I know just what you're talking about, I've worn out 3 copies of Pirates 1 myself! =) Unlike me, Viv doesn't have a TV in her workroom...

She likes sweet and savory snacks, Romantic movies with an odd scary one thrown in. She loves the Beach ("I hate being cold"!) and she listens to some really awesome music, REM, Morcheeba, and lots of alternative bands. Now we 'know' Viv so let's join her challenge! Mr. Linky is below, link up and the winner will be chosen next Tuesday and win 2 Free Doodle Palace images! YAY! Have fun!

Challenge #3 Winner...

This weeks winner is Mrs. Momma! YAY! THANKS so much to everyone who played along! We were very excited to see SO many people participate!

Mrs. Momma, shoot us an email doodlepalacedesigns@yahoo.com to claim your 2 FREE images! Remember, we have a challenge each week and speaking of...Lisa Buttafuoco is this weeks GUEST DESIGNER! Here is a look at the card she created for her challenge.

This weeks Challenge: Cute & Unusual: Thinking Outside the Box

I was amazed to learn that Lisa had used a pair of fishnet stockings on her card. I never would have thought, you know, these would look SO cute on a card, but look...they are SO cute on card! Put your creative caps on and THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX! Have fun!

Since Lisa is our GUEST DESIGNER this week we asked her a few questions to get to know her a little better and we would like to share her answers so you can get to know her a little better, too!

Lisa and her family are HUGE animal lovers so we are already good friends! =)

Lisa has experienced some major hurdles in her recent life, more than I think I could taken, but as a result she has become an avid scrapbooker and cardmaker. Her favorite craft medium is ink/paper, color is GREEN, and her favorite crafting tool is her Cricut.

She doesn't have a favorite paper line/company but does have a lot of DCWV stacks. "My craftroom is stocked with literally thousands of pieces of paper and the funny thing is that sometimes I can't find the paper that I want so I go out and buy more...it's a sickness :)" And, it is contagious because I have it too! =)

How do you have your scraproom decorated? Colors, themes, homey, contemp, etc.
"My craftroom started in the smallest spare bedroom. But I quickly outgrew it and took over the second largest room in our house since at the time it was just me and my husband. I couldn't work after the accident due to my injuries so I went crafting full force. I decided to decorate my craftroom with framed art projects that my kids did and my scrapbook layouts. I lost my only two children two years ago and my way of keeping them 'alive' in my mid is to do scrapbook layouts. I bought all of these frames and had my hubby hang them all around the room. I fill them with some of my favorite scrapbook layouts that I have done of Mikey nad Annemarie and change them out every so often. It makes me feel good that I am surrounded by my angels.

What is your favorite Disney movie? Do you watch movies/tv while working? Do you ever get your inspiration from tv/movies?
"My favorite Disney movie is CARS. That was my son and daughter's favorite movie so they watched it morning, noon and night! It actually is a really cute movie and when I watch it now it makes me smile thinking of how they used to run around acting out the movie. I would love to watch TV while I was working because I would get a lot more done but I don't have a TV in my craftroom...not yet anyways!"

Lisa likes savory snacks usually, Romantic movies (scary ones give her nightmares), 80's music and the beach (although she doesn't like sand on her feet! LOL)

Lisa is an avid animal lover. She adopted a yellow lab/pit mix several years back and Gordon was a huge hit with her kids. She has taken a beautiful layout to the SPCA to hang in their lobby in memory of her daughter Annemarie with pictures of she and Gordon. Unlike my brood of dogs (do dogs come in broods?) Gordon is NOT allowed in her craftroom! =)

Now that you all know Lisa Buttafouco, take a longer look at her sample card and join her CHALLENGE! The winner will be selected using Random.org and win 2 FREE Doodle Palace images! Have fun and Get Busy! =)
